Have you ever felt Aberystwyth? Enjoyed the Abilene? Suffered from Amersham? Been caught by an Affpuddle? You've almost certainly experienced all of these things—you just didn't know there were words for them. Well, in fact, there aren't—or rather weren't, until Douglas Adams and John Lloyd decided to plug these egregious linguistic lacunae by getting a few beers and a notebook and sitting on the beach for a couple of weeks.
